Education Resources

​​​​​​​​​The education of future workers has a direct impact on Kentucky's Workforce Development Ecosystem. Therefore, the Education and Labor Cabinet offers a variety of resources, programs, and initiatives for the growth and strengthening of the workforce development system. ​


Kentucky Department of Education Dual Credit allows a student is enrolled in a course which lets him/her earn high school credit and college credit simultaneously. This course may be taught on a college campus or on a high school campus, but it will be in conjunction with a college or university.




Work-Based Learning ​(WBL) is an effective teaching approach used to engage students in real-life occupational experiences. It incorporates structured, work-based learning activities into the curriculum, allowing a student to apply knowledge and skills learned in class and connect these learning experiences in the workplace.



The Career and Technical Education (CTE) Employer Connector ​helps employers and educators find CTE programs closest to them. Users can filter information such as total current enrollment, eligible co-op students, and 12th grade enrollment by program, region, and distance.

Kentucky Adult Education (KYAE)  provides free adult education services consisting of GED® preparation classes, family literacy programs, certification in job-related skills to increase employability and productivity, college preparation, and English as a second language (ESL) in all 120 counties.
